My scientific interests cover theoretical aspects of acid-base chemical reactions. It includes quantum-chemical studies of the chemical reactivity of organic (including biological) and inorganic molecules which are placed in vacuum, in solution, and on surfaces of solid catalysts. There have been published on this subject more than 120 papers in international and local (in the former Soviet Union) scientific journals. In addition it has also been published several chapters in the books such as “Computational Molecular Biology”, “Computational Chemistry: Review of Current Trends” and so on. There were two distinct experiences during my scientific carrier. In 1989 I received an award (together with I. Abronin and Ya. Simkin) of the USSR branch of the World Association of Theoretical Chemists for the cycle of studies entitled “Quantum-Mechanical and Statistical Theory of Solutions.” In 2009 I received S.M. Gershenson award (together with D.M. Hovorun and V.I. Danilov) of the National Academy of Sciencies of Ukraine for the work “Quantum-Chemical Nature of Spontaneous Point Mutations in DNA”
